According to a number of recent reports, the luxurious Lincoln Navigator is set to undergo a multitude of changes for the coming 2022 model year. In keeping with the top-of-the-line Lincoln tradition, the new model is expected to include revised styling, updates to its interior and infotainment system, and the possible addition of an all-new hybrid powertrain.

New front and rear fascia are expected, as is the inclusion of a new, landscape-oriented infotainment system. That said, the 2022 Lincoln Navigator is sure to continue as a full-size, three-row, body-on-frame SUV with two body style configurations: the 210-inch Lincoln Navigator (standard length) and 222-inch Lincoln Navigator L (extended length).

Under the hood, the 2022 Lincoln Navigator will likely continue to offer its 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine, though some modifications may present an increase in power. Currently, this engine setup already produces 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.

In keeping with modern trends, it is very likely that the 2022 Lincoln Navigator will also introduce a new hybrid powertrain option, most likely a 3.5L PowerBoost V6. Currently, that engine can produce 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque.

The 2021 Lincoln Navigator’s 10-speed automatic transmission is expected to return for both engine options.

The 2022 Lincoln Navigator and extended-length Lincoln Navigator L will likely be offered at all three luxury Lincoln trim levels. This refined SUV will continue to be produced at Lincoln’s Kentucky plant, and is expected to launch in the last quarter of this year, with an official reveal probably coming this summer.

The 2022 Lincoln Navigator will represent the first year of the all-new fourth generation model. Are you interested in getting behind the wheel of this luxury Lincoln ride today?
