Following recent transmission modifications across the Luxury Lincoln lineup of cars and SUVs, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the all-new 2021 Lincoln Nautilus would also be changing up it’s transmission to a seven-speed gearbox. As it turns out, that’s not the case after all.

For 2021, the Lincoln Nautilus will in fact retain it’s familiar 8-speed transmission, though it will offer customers the choice of two different powertrains.

This year, you can choose to equip your 2021 Lincoln Nautilus with either the 2.0L EcoBoost I-4, which is the standard option, or the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, which is paired exclusively with all-wheel drive. All combinations will feature the 8-speed automatic transmission.

This choice makes sense for Lincoln. After all, the luxury brand’s Quiet Flight DNA is more about smooth power delivery than track-blazing performance. In addition, this divergence is further bolstered by the multiple changes throughout the Lincoln Nautilus lineup.

New for 2021, all models will feature a vastly upgraded cabin, which now features a horizontally-themed cockpit layout and an all-new 13.2-inch touchscreen outfitted with the all-new SYNC 4 infotainment system. These changes mirror those found in other refined luxurious Lincoln models like the 2021 Lincoln Corsair and 2021 Lincoln Aviator.
