Lincoln Motor Company and Rivian Collaboration will Lead to Lincoln’s First All-Electric Vehicle

Lincoln Motor Company recently announced its collaboration with Rivian to develop an all-new electric vehicle based on Rivian’s skateboard platform.

With the announcement of Lincoln’s first fully-electric vehicle, the company’s commitment to electrification is underway. Lincoln’s upcoming all-electric vehicle will join the Lincoln Aviator and Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring plug-in hybrid vehicles in the company's electric vehicle line-up. Not only will the Lincoln-Rivian collaborative vehicle offer zero-emissions, but it will also feature connected and intuitive technologies, so Lincoln clients can relax and enjoy the drive.

“Working with Rivian marks a pivotal point for Lincoln as we move toward a future that includes fully electric vehicles,” said Joy Falotico, president, The Lincoln Motor Company. “This vehicle will take Quiet Flight to a new place – zero emissions, effortless performance and connected and intuitive technology. It’s going to be stunning.”

With the introduction of the Lincoln Corsair, Lincoln Aviator, and Lincoln Navigator, Lincoln’s global SUV sales have increased 7-percent year-over-year and provided Lincoln with its best SUV sales in 16 years.

“[This] is an exciting opportunity to pair our technology with Lincoln’s vision for innovation and refinement. We are proud to collaborate on Lincoln’s first fully electric vehicle,” said Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe.

Adding the new luxurious all-electric vehicle to Lincoln’s lineup will cease production of the Lincoln MKZ sedan.
