A Smooth Ride Is Guaranteed In the 2020 Lincoln Aviator

Adaptive technologies make every ride easier and more enjoyable. That’s why the 2020 Lincoln Aviator is equipped with these kinds of intuitive features. Some of these features are brand new to the Lincoln Aviator.

Lincoln’s Adaptive Suspension utilizes 12 sensors that read the road and take in hundreds of points of data a second. Reading the road 500 times and adjusting 100 times per second.

“The system in Aviator is so advanced that its sensors speed-read the road ahead and adjust the system faster than a blink of an eye, with more than 23,000 inputs of data per second,” says David Russell, vehicle dynamics technical specialist at the Lincoln Motor Company.

This suspension even works to reduce the potential damage of road hazards like potholes. When a sharp drop is detected, the shock absorbers respond to keep the whole vehicle from coming down onto the wheel. Each wheel can react in this way independently of each other.

In order to sense those potential hazards and dips in the road, the Lincoln Aviator uses Road Preview. This allows the vehicle to look nearly 50 feet ahead on the road with a front facing camera. This is useful from everything from speed bumps  to potholes between 2 and 8 inches in height deviation.

The Air Glide Suspension guarantees a smoother ride as well. As the name implies, the typical suspension made up of hard spring coils is substituted for guided air springs. These can be pre-programmed to ride at different heights for different capabilities.

These are just a few of the advanced features present in the 2020 Lincoln Aviator. Keep an eye out for it’s arrival at Carman Lincoln soon.
